Dr Ali Emre Karadeniz is the only certified Turkish plastic and hair transplant surgeon that has the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr Ali is half Turkish half British, he was born in Edinburgh. He studied medicine and plastic surgery in Turkey. In 2010, he began his journey with hair restoration surgeries. Wow this clinic took care of me from the moment I contacted them to the moment I finished the operation. They were very courteous, professional, and kind. Sasha makes you feel very comfortable and is always there for you. Doctor Ali was extremely informative and makes you feel like you're in good and safe hands. Its too early for me to see the full results but the hairline they gave me is fantastic and much better than i expected. Can't wait to see the full thing in 6 months.

I am one week post-op from a hair transplant and had a great experience.
Scheduling the procedure was easy via WhatsApp. Dr. Karadeniz's staff took care of booking our hotel and arranged a driver to meet us at the airport.
The driver took us to Silence Hotel, which is a one minute walk to the clinic. The hotel is very nice and includes a delicious breakfast buffet. The price of the transplant covers a two-night stay at the hotel, but we arrived a few days early to tour Istanbul. The cost was only 55 Euros per night. At that price, I expected a small, uncomfortable hotel, but this was not the case at all. It was very comfortable, clean, and had all of the amenities you would expect at a 5-star hotel. If the hotel were located in any major US city, it easily would have cost $300-$400/night.
The day prior to surgery, we met with Dr. Karadeniz for a pre-op consultation where he evaluated our hair loss and marked the donor and recipient areas. He is more conservative that I had initially imagined, but he explained why he recommended the proposed hairline. Since he is the expert, I went with his plan and am happy I did. At this consultation, he explained all of the pre-op instructions again, told us what to expect, and answered all of our questions.
The clinic is very clean, and all who work there are extremely friendly and helpful.
The procedure was about 6 hours or so with a lunch break (lunch is provided at the clinic). They first test for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C to make sure everyone is safe, and it seems they use universal precautions on top of this. I did not know what to expect, so I did start taking PrEP (HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis) prior to the procedure to rest my mind, but I did not see anything that would put patients at risk for infection. A technician shaved off my hair and then we got started. The procedure was surprisingly painless. Whenever I had to use the restroom, I just asked and the technicians let me go.
After the procedure, we watched a post-op video and received all of the aftercare supplies we would need. Even after the local anesthetic wore off, we had no pain and enjoyed a terrific dinner that night. It's nice that so many people you see out and about have the same bandages you do!
The next day, we went to the clinic to have the bandages removed and our hair washed. It took less than an hour and was completely painless. We enjoyed two days in Istanbul (but stayed out of the sun) after the transplant and then returned home.
I went back to work on post-op day 5 and people told me "nice haircut," and I don't think anyone would have known I just had a hair transplant if I hadn't told them.
I am a high-strung New York City surgeon, and have nothing but praise for Dr. Karandeniz and his staff. Everything was done safely, efficiently, professionally, with the utmost care, and everyone was extremely warm and accommodating.
The real test will be to see what grows in a year, but for now, I am totally happy with the experience.

Day 1 - got picked up from hotel and did comprehensive exam, they let you pick the hair that you like and matches your face. Treatment took about 8 hours to complete. It was painless and extremely profesional.

It's been almost 4 weeks now after the procedure at AEK Hair Clinic. I am satisfied about how everything went. Adel guided me a lot before the procedure through Whatsapp, which made me feel comfortable. From the airport I got transported in a luxury car to a 5 star hotel. Next day I had my transplant. Serdar picked me up and was very nice. We did the blood test in the clinic and then the procedure started. I found the anesthesia needles quite painful, but after that the whole procedure was painless. I went with dr. K.'s recommendation for the hairline. I have had a good experience and look forward to the coming 6-12 months for the result!

Did my procedure in 8/2020. It’s now more than 6 months. I am not satisfied with the results at all! See pictures before (grey shirt) and after (white shirt)!
The sedation gas is basically a joke! It makes NO difference in sedation process.
The office licenses and physicians degrees attached on the wall are not Dr. Ali’s! When asked about it, they referred me to abhrs.org website to look up Dr. Ali. I found that suspicious. You need to have the licenses of the physician hung to the wall to confirm that they’re licensed to work in Turkey!
Sanitization and sterilization is good.
Staff is nice.
Most of the google reviews here are either done immediately after the procedure, which isn’t really helpful because the most important part is the final results 6 months later! Or they’re done by what seems to be fake profiles (reviewers with 1-2 reviews in their profile)!!

The staff was very nice and informative. The procedure itself went by pretty quick with minimal discomfort. The first three months are tough and you have to be very careful but over a year later and I have a new set of hair! Immensely happy with the results and I recommend this clinic for any hair transplant procedures.

Had a hair transplant here almost 2 years ago and not happy with the results, the Dr.Ali is just there maybe 10 minutes in the procedure apart from that he is not involved at all, he also doesn't answer your questions properly, its not even clear how many grafts they transplant, every doctor i have been to after them for another hair transplant has informed me that they took hair from very weak donor areas. Not worth it at all, even if you have to pay $1000 or $2000 more go somewhere else this place is not worth it. Plus I wanted work done on my crown but instead they completed the whole procedure in the front portion, so basically its a big money grabbing operation.

I had a hair transplant at this clinic six days ago. The staff was very helpful in helping me organize my trip and the transit between the airport, the hotel and the clinic. Sasha was available for any questions and answered all my questions. I flew 2 days before to have a meeting with the doctor the day before the surgery. He drew a hairline which was in line with my wishes. The procedure wasn't painful or stressful, just a bit long (around 7-8 hours). Dr. Karadeniz did the incisions himself. After the transplant I was given the instructions to follow for the following weeks. The hair is healing nicely but I will have to wait 12 months to see the full results.

This was my second transplant but first one with AEK in Turkey. Absolutely amazing service, so friendly, so professional, so caring and just unbelievable they met all my expectations in every way and I couldn’t recommend this clinic any more. Got my surgery back in December, the growth is coming in slowly but i just cant stand the fact that this clinic does not show any updates on their Instagram or website. As I browse through other clinics in Turkey everyone posts updates and makes them feel welcoming.
Also during my procedure I asked multiple times for PRP and they still didnt give me the treatment I wanted. My hairline isnt what I wanted aswell and was told I would have to sign documentation to get what I want because the "Doctor knows best". Overall im glad I have hair now, and its only been 5 months but I just wish the Clinic would be more active on social media to make me want to come back for my 2nd procedure.

I would avoid this place. I went there 4 years ago to cover my crown but the results are really poor . Dr Emre appears at first as being professional, kind and empathetic. Once you get past that facade you soon realise he's a paranoid narcissist masquerading as some leading light in his field. The service was brilliant. Since I contacted AEK a year ago, Maicova stayed in touch via WhatsApp. She answered any question I had, at any time which made the process smooth an easy. The correspondent in Turkey, Sasha, was at the airport waiting for me as soon as I arrived. As part of the package, they put me up in the Mariott Hotel Asia, Istanbul-- a 5 star hotel. The 3 nights stay included breakfast and the stay was fantastic. The staff at the Marriott were extremely kind and helpful.
Sasha also organised a Covid PCR test for me to take in the hotel. This was needed for my flight home. A big thanks to Sasha, Maicova and Selcuk! Their help really made the pricess smooth and comfortable

It has been one week since I had FUT at AEK Hair Clinic with Dr. Karadeniz, and I am ready to complete this review. My experience with AEK Hair Clinic from beginning to end was completely positive, and I am extremely happy with how things went. Dr. Karadeniz does excellent work, and I am so grateful for the time he spent looking closely at my situation and discussing different options before the procedure. His team of assistants is exceptionally skilled, and they go to great lengths to make sure you feel cared for and to show you that you are in excellent hands. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this whole experience next to the great surgical work was the consistent kindness and willingness to help that his entire team showed. I had some difficulty getting the results of my COVID test prior to the procedure, but the clinic officials went beyond what was convenient to help me sort it out. They were consistently nice and beyond generous with their time at all points. I left Istanbul not only with (hopefully) a denser hairline but also several new friends. Highly recommended.

Hi , I have traveled from Toronto Canada to Istanbul for my hair transplant, i am one the victim of male pattern baldness.
After doing a lot of research i picked AEK Clinic because Dr Ali Emre Karadeniz is very honest and have extensive experience. He has explained me very well about the procedure. Because of high amount of hair loss I need two procedures. Today (April 14th 2022) is my first procedure. Almost 5000 hairs will be extracted from the donor area without making damages to the donor area so it can be ready after 10 months for the second procedure. And Hair Transplant will look natural.
Dr Ali is one the best surgeon here and especially he takes care of his patient and donor area really good.
I am attaching my pre procedure pictures. And after the procedure I will attach more pictures.
The reason why I am writing this review is because in Istanbul,it is really hard and time consuming process to find a good doctor.

They operate in a misleading way. They tell you that they do not price by graft but just have a flat fee for the day. So I paid for a day of hair transplant work but they only worked for 5 hours and then they told me that they were done. They should have given me half my money back if they only work half the day. Furthermore, it is very hard to convince the Dr. what hairline you want. He tells you what he thinks your hairline should be and he will not respect your wishes. Once you travel all the way to Turkey you have no choice but to oblige. If I could do it again I would look for an office that will provide all the services I paid for and also consider my desired look.

The procedure itself was totally painless after the local anesthetics. It was a long procedure but it went smoothly. Everyone was very professional!
Also everything else was also very smoothly taken care of. Transportations etc. The hotel was also very good.

I chose AEK clinic after finding positive reviews all over the internet. However, the negative reviews were actually closer to my personal experience. I had my transplant in june 2021. I am writing this review exactly 1 year later so I could comment on the actual and full results. Most doctors would agree that after 1 year you should see good growth and results. I would say I am diassapointed with the result. The front part has good coverage and growth however towards the middle and back there is noticable thinning. They left a huge empty area in the back. Although the doctor told me I will need a second session, I am not encouraged by the results and will not return to this clinic. Serdar and the drivers were very nice and helpful. Top notch service. Couple of nurses were very nice too. But the doctor has an attitude problem. He talks down to you like you are a ignorant school child who cannot understand simple concepts. During 8 hour long first session, the nurses talked my ears off. Serving lunch in the operating room is unhygenic, and the food quality was not good. They dont provide you any entertainment while the surgery is happening. Although my appearance has improved and I feel good about my frontal part having a lot more hair, I have several complaints. The aftercare instructions and expectation management was inadequate. I requested serdar later if I can speak to the doctor about the results in the mid-section and he completely ignored me. Do better AEK.

The ladies that did the transplant were very professional they did a good job I was surprised of how many grafs they could take from my poor donor area and the beard. The translator is very friendly and react very quick to all you need to make you feel confortable and everything is well organised. The doctor always come to the room during surgery to check and give instructions ( because my case was a bit complicated. I had few surgeries before and didn’t have enough hair to transplant) so we went for the beard, full face, they took about 2550 grafs from the beard and two days later I couldn’t see the scars. I was scared about doing the full face but now I don’t regret.
I just wanted to say that AEK wasn’t my first option of clinic I did like everyone on internet, went on youtube, sites and I contact all the big names and best reviewed clinics in Istanbul and they all said that they can’t do anything because I didn’t have enough hair. I think if you are a good surgeon and have a good team you should be able to do the difficult cases not just the easy ones.
I’m not writing a book so thank you Dr. Karadeniz and all the team.

Not knowing what to expect at first, but the people: Ilayda, welcoming us and attending to all of our needs; Ahmed, welcoming and guiding us throughout the process; Tulin, Gizem and Nilay, three of the best sculptors you can have doing the work. I am a Norwood scale 5/6 . A lot of clinics rejected the procedure but AEK said it would be possible. I enquired how the hairline would look and how many grafts would be used and their response was “ grafts are not scientific evidence “ yet they use grafts as a reference on their own website. I then enquired how my hairline would look and they would not answer the question.

I was introduced to Ahmed, who was an excellent guide and addressed all my concerns, putting my anxiety at ease. He walked me through the entire process. From making my initial enquiry from London. To meeting him in the clinic and explaining the aftercare process.
I also met with Dr Karadeniz when he designed my hairline. He also stays to oversee every procedure done in the clinic. Istanbul is full of hair restoration clinics. Yet there are only a hand full with the correct certifications and knowledge. Dr Ali Karadeniz is the best of them. If you’re thinking of doing this procedure, don’t go anywhere else.

READ FIRST BEFORE GOING TO AEK CLINIC
NEGATIVES:
1.
No chance to speak with Dr Ali before arriving in Istanbul. Its "Yuksel" a communication coordinator who evaluated the photos you sent via WhatsApp telling you the graft nr needed to your case. This was a WEIRD start.
"Yuksel" will determine if you need one or two operations. After operation was done i did see the crown area with way fewer grafts.
"Yuksel" should have informed me that one operation might not be enough. But he didnt. He just focused on the bright side of the story and how good results could be achieved by the one operation.
"Yuksel" should have been honest about the fact that I needed 2 operations to be able to cover the crown area too, and let me decide whether i want to go to Turkey twice or not.

I chose standard package FUE (1800€) which supposed to include:
= Dr. K would supervise the operation.
= Dr. K drawing the hairline.
The procedure was NOT supervised by Dr. K as they claimed. The assistants did it on their own. Dr. K was these for 10 min to:
= draw the hairline.
= answer few questions.
He left the clinic right after our 10 min meeting.

Operation was made without loupes even though they confirmed in conversation over WhatsApp that loupes will be used.
Once I was there, Dr. K said using loupes is not important. I felt stuck at that point because using loupes is essential to guarantee great vision / graft distribution. At least they shouldn't lie about it
4.
They take only CASH and NO visa card. They claimed: the bank will deduct 15% of the payment if you pay with Visa card.
I double-checked it later with friends living in Istanbul and this turned to be a LIE / TRICK.

I didn't have cash on me ( because "Yuksel" a very bad communication coordinator never answered my question on WhatsApp about paying cash or with Visa card ).
So I had to find ATM machine to get the cash for them. Withdrawing from ATM in Turkey costed me an extra 8 % of (1800 €)
They made me leave the clinic to get cash with 8% withdraw cost to skip getting paid using VISA card which costs them nothing extra.

Manipulative marketing.
Its not (all included) as they claim when you buy a package, Please read carefully:

I never got the free PRP treatment as they claimed. I never noticed it untill I was back home after 2 intensive days in Istanbul where your focus is not at the highest level.
They will sell you (Proscar) tablets. Clear Info about medicine COST should be given to the patient over WhatsApp conversation and even before flying to Istanbul.

VIP airport pick up luxury car?
That's a fraud. Its just van car.

Transport back to airport:
They will charge you for taxi back to airport 60 €. That's disappointing and disgusting. You feel you've been again cheated with ( all included ) concept/claims.

The package that I bought over whatsapp conversation included ( lifetime guarantee ) which they never mentioned when I was at the clinic. I was so tired exhausted and didn't remember to ask them about it.
POSITIVES:
1- Nice driver on the pick up van car.
2- The clinic and hotel are walking distance from each other.
3- Good hairline by Dr. K. He is an ethical and skilled doctor.
4- Procedure was good almost painless.
5- Hygiene levels at the clinic were good even though the windows were open at some point of the operation.
6- "Gokce" the clinic coordinator was very nice and tried to cover all mistakes done by "Yuksel".
Finally,
To all guys giving 5 stars after only 1-4 week talking only about service and hygiene, I say please STOP. You are misleading other guys.
Its not a restaurant or hotel to praise the service/hygiene. It should be a MUST for any clinic.
This is No point of making a review about service/hygiene. The excellent service/excellent hygiene would make you happy for one week but BAD results would make you ANGRY forever.

This clinic took care of me from the moment I contacted them to the moment I finished the operation. They were very courteous, professional, and kind. Ahmet makes you feel very comfortable and is always there for you. Doctor Ali and the rest of the team of nurses were extremely informative and makes you feel like you're in good and safe hands. The hairline they gave me is fantastic and much better than i expected. Can't wait to see the full thing in 6 months.

Had an FUT procedure with AEK since not many clinics do FUT and for my type of balding was the best choice, it all went smoothly. Coming from Toronto, Canada. First visit to clinic in Oct 2019 just before Covid closed travel, very pleased with results. I have always been realistic that more than one surgery given my advanced stage of hair loss would be needed and have returned Sep 2023. This trip has been exactly the same experience as the first, I’m expecting a very positive outcome in 6 months that will reinforce the first surgery. I would recommend the AEK clinic team.

I am very happy about my experience in AEK clinic. Ahmed (the commercial liaison) is super helpful and proactif, he answers very fast to any questions. The doctor spent almost 1h explaining the procedure the whys, pros and cons of every option. He answered all my questions (i am a fellow doctor, a cardiologist, so I had plenty of questions for him). The procedure went very smoothly, i didn’t feel any pain (some mild disconfort during the local anesthesia, but that’s all). The staff was very friendly and profesional. The hotel were you are lodged is 1 minute walk from the clinic and they have room service 24/7 (but they might have some trouble understanding your order in english). Overall, a very good experience.

Came from qatar to do my surgery with AEK ,. And im making this review 2 days after my surgery ( after the washing ) , The procedure went great, no pain whatsoever and it was actually fun and thats alot coming from me since i don't like needles and doctors but The staff was very friendly and profesional thats why i really felt at home rather than a clinic. Elvan, Tülin and Gizem are queens ???? having them do my proceeding was a blessing, and ofcourse" ahmed " my friend who was with me since day one and still in touch with me .
Based on what im seeing so far , I'm expecting a very good results .
I will give an update also after 6 months .
Overall so far the clinic is amazing ????

This is the second time iv visited dr k, and both times have been a good experience. During the design stage he makes an assessment of your hair and then provides you with options, his recommendation or what you have in your mind. Both times i have taken his recommendation, as its his expertise, so even though i expected coming back with a full head of thick hair, he explained both times the state of my donor hair and also how my hair will potentially regress during time. So if you opt to do what you want, and are not happy with it, thats on you, as he will have explained why he does not recommend it. I cannot stress how good he is, to the point that before i had my 2nd op, i went to another clinic within uk (to sense check if i could do my crown) and they asked where i did my 1st op, and when i said turkey they were shocked and said how good the transplant was and how many horror stories they usually hear. The whole process is smooth, from ahmed who was the initial point of contact to the team that carry out the transplant. I would definitely recommend this place to someone, and thats coming from someone who researched heavily into clinics through forums, google etc and even did background checks on the Dr’s, so if you have the same fear i did, then dont worry this is the place to go.

I had FUT/FUE combination surgery in early October 2023. 9000 hairs moved over the course of 2 days of surgery. AEK did a great job and I would recommend them. Doctor was involved during the critical surgical points where I expected him to be involved. Technicians are highly trained and pay attention to detail.
There are a couple of things I wish could have been better. I had expectations and visualized how things would be done. I thought they would do some sort of scan of your head and essentially electronically map out what grafts to harvest. It was really a very low tech process and more of an art than a science. I also expected some sort of written aftercare instructions suited just for what I had done and my procedures. Instead, they refer you to a video that covers things in a general way. Also, providing a container of Shampoo over 100ml makes no sense for travelers. It doesn’t get through airport security. I wish the doctor would have talked to me as the surgery was going on to explain what was happening at every step. I wish there was always an English speaker in the room while the procedures were happening. I wish they would have provided a map of the immediate area to assist you in finding places to buy things you may need. These things are the little things I thought could be better. I’m not going to give them a poor review because these things are somewhat subjective and a personal preference.
What they did right:
Highly skilled technicians performing appropriate procedures.
Doctor performing critical and appropriate parts of surgery. Hairline design seemed to be age appropriate and natural looking.
Did not over harvest donor area by giving appropriate advice on procedures to have done.
Kept pain to a minimum. There is going to be some pain but it’s all bearable.
Fed good food during the day.
All in all, I would choose them again. Let’s hope in 6-9 months the results reflect what I consider to be a successful hair transplant.

Ahmet the consultant is very helpful and very good in answering all my queries i had, he has explained to me in details the step by step procedure from start to end, very positive person I have met.
The doctor was also very knowledgeable.

Went back for a touch up and from the day i reached out to the clinic, Ahmed the coordinator was amazing. I got Timely response to my many questions.
The clinic has made a lot of good progress from where it was in 2016.
The procedure was faster this time round than the previous procedure.
I was so well taken care of by Ahmed and the technicians hence my 5 star rating.

This is the second time I have visited this place- which in itself is a testament of how good and professional the clinic is. The first time, I accompanied my partner who had the procedure done after several mediocre tries in the US. The process was such a success that he decided to come back to "fill in". I also bought another friend whose issues were not quite the same. Both had wonderful results. Ahmet who coordinated the entire project did a wonderful job of explaining the procedure from point A to Z. His patience and accommodating nature, made the whole experience a painless one- no pun intended. The entire staff was great. If possible, I would give them 10 stars.

I just finished hair restoration at AEK yesterday with the follow up hair washing today. So far very satisfied with the entire process that got me here from the US. Ahmed did a great job helping me understand the procedure, the travel & accommodations, and the quality reasons to choose AEK. He also has been a great host while at the clinic. My driver Mehmet has also been quite helpful and accommodating.
I was referred to AEK by a physician friend in the US who had performed research and then had hair restoration done this year in Türkiye.
Although my friend had his hair transplant done by a different company, his first choice was AEK and he recommended I go with them. A schedule conflict is why he went with a different clinic. I then did my own research and narrowed the list of potential clinics to three. AEK offered the best value for my investment and with a strong recommendation, it was an easy decision.
I liked the small, intimate nature of AEK and how well they are organized. Also, had no issues with language. Next time I come, I’ll be sure to leave some time for sight seeing in Istanbul!

Avoid this clinic. I had a hair transplant here that left me with visible scarring, poor density, and unnatural hair direction. The procedure wasn’t performed by Dr. Karadeniz himself but by two technicians, in unsuitable facilities more like a flat than a real clinic. I was pressured to proceed after traveling and paying, despite clear red flags. Instruments were rudimentary, grafts stored under an infrared lamp, and anaesthesia was self-administered via a hose. No info was given on the number of grafts, and post-op care was minimal. A PRP session promised in the offer was later denied unless I paid extra. After I voiced concerns, I was blocked. I later had to consult a reputable surgeon to repair the damage. This experience caused physical and emotional harm. Don’t rely on marketing or vague guarantees. Be cautious — this could happen to you.
